BOB PEETERS AANGESTELD ALS GENERAL MANAGER VAN SK BEVEREN
SK Beveren heeft Bob Peeters aangesteld als General Manager. De 50-jarige Belg met een rijke carrière als speler en coach zal bij geel-blauw de komende twee seizoenen de sportieve lijnen uitzetten.
TRAINERSCARRIÈRE
Na een carrière als speler bij Lierse, Roda, Vitesse, Millwall en Genk begon Bob Peeters in 2010 zijn trainerscarrière bij Cercle Brugge. Het duurde echter niet lang alvorens de gewezen spits een eerste keer op de Freethiel belandde. Na een korte passage in Gent nam hij in november 2013 het roer over van de ontslagen Glen De Boeck. Peeters bracht opnieuw vertrouwen in het team en slaagde erin geel-blauw te behoeden voor de toenmalige play-off 3.
Na dit succesvolle seizoen besloot Peeters een buitenlands avontuur aan te gaan. Hij trok naar Engeland om Charlton te coachen. Later keerde Peeters terug naar de heimat om zijn carrière achtereenvolgens verder te zetten bij Lokeren en Westerlo.
Na een tweede Westelse passage volgde een nieuwe buitenlandse uitdaging. Eerst ging de Belgische coach aan de slag bij Top Oss, nadien zette hij de lijnen uit bij Helmond Sport. Nu zet de gewezen Rode Duivel bij SKB een nieuwe stap in zijn carrière.
GENERAL MANAGER
Peeters wordt bij SK Beveren General Manager. In die rol zal hij de komende twee seizoenen de krijtlijnen van het sportieve project van SK Beveren uittekenen. Zijn eerste taak zal erin bestaan een T1 aan te duiden en de sportieve staf samen te stellen.
Hij zal voor de staf als klankbord fungeren en hen met zijn rijke ervaring als coach actief ondersteunen in de opvolging en ontwikkeling van spelers.
Ook zal hij verantwoordelijk zijn voor het rekruteringsbeleid van de club, waarbij de focus sterker dan in het recente verleden zal komen te liggen op het opleiden, aantrekken en ontwikkelen van jonge talenten.
In lijn met die focus zal Peeters niet alleen verantwoordelijk zijn voor het eerste elftal, maar ook de jeugdwerking van nabij opvolgen. Het doel is om de bestaande structuur op deze manier van een nieuwe impuls te voorzien en de ontwikkeling en doorstroming van lokale talenten naar het eerste elftal te stimuleren.

Bob kent de competitie en het Belgische voetballandschap door en door en koestert warme herinneringen aan zijn tijd in Beveren. Als product van een gerenommeerde jeugdacademie en met zijn uitgebreide netwerk in België en Nederland, heeft hij bij elke club waar hij werkte jonge spelers kansen gegeven.
Dit maakt hem de ideale persoon om SK Beveren de komende seizoenen te helpen bij het uittekenen van een duurzame langetermijnvisie voor deze club.”

SK Beveren has appointed Bob Peeters as General Manager. The 50-year-old Belgian, with a distinguished career as a player and coach, will set the sporting direction at SK Beveren for the next two seasons.
TRAINER’S CAREER
After a playing career at Lierse, Roda, Vitesse, Millwall, and Genk, Bob Peeters began coaching at Cercle Brugge in 2010. It didn’t take long for the former striker to find his way to the Freethiel. After a brief stint in Ghent, he took over from the dismissed Glen De Boeck in November 2013. Peeters restored confidence in the team managed to avoid Play-Off 3.
Following this success, Peeters embarked on an international adventure, moving to England to coach Charlton. Later, he returned to Belgium to continue his career at Lokeren and Westerlo.
After a second stint at Westerlo, he faced a new challenge abroad, first at Top Oss in the Netherlands and then led the team at Helmond Sport.
Now, the former Red Devil takes a new step in his career at SK Beveren.
GENERAL MANAGER
Peeters will become General Manager at SK Beveren. In this role, he will outline the framework for the club’s sporting project over the next two seasons. His first task will be to appoint a head coach and assemble the sporting staff.
He will serve as a sounding board to the staff, actively supporting them with his extensive coaching experience in the monitoring and development of players.
Peeters will also be responsible for the club’s recruitment policy, with a stronger focus than in the recent past on developing, attracting and nurturing young talent.
In line with this focus, Peeters will be responsible not only for the first team but also for closely overseeing the youth development program. The goal is to give the existing structure new momentum and to stimulate the development and progression of local talents to the first team.

This makes him the ideal person to help SK Beveren shape a sustainable long-term vision for the club in the coming seasons.”
